Morning sightseeing at the Sydney Opera House, including the ship that will be our new home starting tonight! Can you see the tiny people climbing the bridge like we did yesterday?

From the opera house we strolled through the Royal Botanic Gardens past Government House, the closest to a castle we can find. 😉 Wish we had time to check out the free Plants With Bite exhibit but we had lunch reservations downtown...

We walked downtown, through Victoria Park and to the Sydney Tower for lunch at the revolving top. Unfortunate other skyscrapers now block the view of the bridge & opera house, but we saw Darling Harbour where we caught our dinner cruise last night, and the food was good, including emu sausage, kangaroo rump, fried squid, roast pumpkin, and truffled mac & cheese.

The Queen Victoria Building is still gorgeous even remodeled and connected underground to the other local Sydney malls, including the Sydney Tower mall. We have never seen so many multi-story malls in such a small area! We looked into some high-end shops and enjoyed the giant hanging clocks, even a castle!

We had shopped enough around the Queen Victoria Building mall, so we were able to be seated in the Tea Room earlier than our reservation. Glen had never had high tea before or even used a tea strainer. 😉 My legs are now feeling the bridge climb, and it’s been another muggy hot day, so we were glad to sit for a spell in cooler air. Hopefully we can relax in the ship tonight to recover!

We are all on board the Holland America MS Noordam, with staterooms all in the same hallway, now fully mustered but Ruth & George are on the next lifeboat over. No more internet for me until our next port tomorrow! Bon Voyage to us!

Farewell to Sydney on the upper deck! Glen & I ate so much during the day that our first cruise dinner was light, but we enjoyed our full table of friends. After dinner we strolled the ship to explore, but we lost Ruth & Gail to the puzzle room. ;)
