Recording like that is always really tiring...9am-4pm on Saturday, then from 1-4pm again on Sunday for the rest. Even though it took a long time, it all went very well, without too many repeated sections. We even have an awesome organist playing full-stop on one piece (that sounded awesome to sing in person, so it must sound great on the recording!), and a steel drummer with electric bass and drums on the calypso-style Mary's Boy Child, which has my one tiny solo. Too bad my solo is too short with about 7 other people having solos on the same piece, so I'll bet I don't end up with a solo credit on the CD liner. Such is the story of my life with solos...
Sunday morning was the first full night's sleep I've had since well before my LA trip then the final Halloween crunch, so thankfully my cat was cooperative in letting me sleep in! Mixed in with the recording was a viewing of the Nightmare Before Christmas on Saturday night, since Melanie had never seen the whole thing, then dinner for Keith's birthday last night, so those were fun, too.
Now I still have to clean up a lot of Halloween mess in my house...heh! Hope you all had good weekends... :)
