My most recent search started about a month ago, and this is the 2nd house I offered on, but the first buyer fell through so they came back to me this week when it went back on the market. I like the floor plan even though the rooms are quite small (1166 square feet living area), but it is 3 bedroom, 2 baths, kitchen/eating area including dishwasher & fridge, laundry area in the 2 car garage, and a quite decent-sized yard for the Bay Area - hooray! I can't say that the exterior style is my favorite, since it looks like The Incredibles live there (heh!), but the inside exposed ceiling beams have lots of "castle-theme" potential! ;) I wanted a house that needed some work since I want to make it my own anyway...the sad screened patio will need to go! Plus the dining area off the living room by the fireplace could fit a baby grand piano eventually...if I can ever afford one now that my housing payment will eat up most of my monthly income! ;) It needs termite work including fumigation (standard in most houses of this vintage in the Bay Area), updated wiring, cracks in the brick chimney repaired, and the foundation releveled in the master bedroom, which I want to do before I move in, which will most likely be over the holidays. Needless to say, due to my newly-limited disposable income I think all Britta-parties from now on will probably have to be potluck, at least for quite awhile! ;)
I bought a house! :-O
