This is great...good to know that some in the Big Easy still have their sense of humor in the face of adversity! I agree that still having Mardi Gras in New Orleans will be good morale for those there trying to rebuild. Having a minimal but successful Mardi Gras is a good step on the way to recovery, since it is a source of pride, especially for the long-time families whose Mardi Gras traditions go back well over a hundred years now...and I'm talking about the long-standing traditions of krewes and floats and elaborate costumes, not the more recent "tradition" of drunken Bourbon St crowds with lifting shirts for beads! ;)
