As I walked through Target at lunch today, I saw these out of the corner of my eye, thinking "Those look like giant volumetric chemistry flasks!"...and as I walked over to inspect more closely, lo & behold they were even stamped like Pyrex and listed on the price tag as "Flask Vase"...I was sorely tempted to buy the 2000mL one to supplement my mad scientist display since it would fit a good amount of fun experimental liquid, but I resisted spending $12.99 plus tax for now...

Oooh! Cool! [veruca salt] I want it, daddy! I want it now![ /veruca salt]

Did somebody at Target run this past Legal?

(Anonymous)
I seem to recall that it was getting harder to buy things like this as the 'war on drugs' waged on. My quick search came up with:

"Scott Adkins, 37, of St. Joseph, was sentenced on Jan. 9, 2004, to two years and 11 months in federal prison without parole. On Sept. 26, 2003, Adkins pleaded guilty to possessing glassware knowing that it would be used to manufacture methamphetamine. Adkins admitted that he possessed the glassware between Nov. 1, 2001, and Feb. 1, 2002. Adkins admitted that he utilized the Pyrex dishes in order to assist in the manufacture of methamphetamine at 1814 ½ Jones St., in St. Joseph.

Re: Did somebody at Target run this past Legal?

Well it's not actually Pyrex, just a logo that looks similarly "official", so I assume that it's not heat safe, which would be how they'd get away with it I assume...the glass looked pretty thin to me...decorative purposes only? ;)
