...or maybe not? Traffic was horrible so even though I left work about 6pm, I didn't get to my polling place until 7:25, and I'm still in a practically unmoving line now at 7:50...wondering if they'll just kick us out at 8pm or what...? Solitaire on my Treo is only entertaining for so long... *sigh*

Ack! I hope you made it!

Yeah, they shut the outer doors at 8pm & said everyone who was in line would get to vote no matter what. They had machines breaking down all day, including 2 broken when I was there, so only 3 machines for obviously a very popular polling place wasn't doing so well...the wonders of technology? I was wishing for the old punch cards when I could punch them in about 60 seconds when I had prepped my sample ballot in advance! When I finally got my turn (after enough Treo solitaire that I won twice!) I pressed my touchscreen buttons as quickly as I could & was done by 8:35...on my way out a guy still in line said "Very efficient!" so I guess people could tell I was hurrying...haha... ;)

I would've preferred the punch cards to the lame filling in the circles with a black magic marker. Talk about a waste of time!

Even tho I had to drive faaaaaaaaar from where I live, I was lucky to be able to walk in and have one empty booth waiting for me! There was a line after I left tho.

My Permanant Record

Since we registered as permanent absentee voters to avoid any possible eVote disappearances, save the drive time and let us tune out the last-minute ad blitzes, we get to play 'connect the arrow.'

Call me old-fashioned but I like the paper trail when it comes to things like mortgages and voting. :D

Re: My Permanant Record

Yeah, I usually get the absentee ballot, but I wasn't even sure if I was registered properly after my move, even though I had chosen that option when updating my DMV records...the voter packets hadn't come until after I left on vacation, and it was too late when I got back to apply for absentee. Maybe next time!
