*sigh* Now, less than 2 months to the planned Scandinavia trip, my friend who was enthused to travel with me now can't go at all, which leaves me with no one else. I've tried to sightsee by myself before in Washington DC, but I was absolutely miserable, so I still really want to go & take my chance to finally see the land of my ancestry, but not so badly by myself. I will be fine at the wedding & the week after when Teje has the time to have me at her house, but now the 10 days before that aren't sounding as attractive, even with the beautiful scenery I planned to see.

At least I should have a party progress update soonish, since the first of the invitations should be going out in today's mail...

Oh goodnesss. That sucks quite a bit. :( I'm so sorry.

I'm going to hold out hope that something magnificent happens while you're travelling solo. :D You might be able to meet some interesting folk who will show you around at your various destinations.

Yeah I'm going to try to jot down all the positives & try my best at my attitude. If I was younger maybe I could try the hostel route & meet people that way, but I'm afraid I'm too old & would only feel even older with the teeny-boppers & college students staying there. I did okay in Munich by myself last fall, but I had people to meet for dinner & go to Oktoberfest so I didn't feel so completely alone so much. We'll see what I figure out.

Sorry :( Broken plans just suck all around, but at least the whole trip won't be a wash and you can still try to enjoy the environment.

Just remember though the next time you wander to the East Coast you won't have to sightsee alone :)
